Riung Office Tower: Façade Works Progress by Pelitamaju Facades
Pelitamaju Facades continues to be involved in a wide range of commercial building projects across Indonesia. One of the projects currently approaching completion is Riung Office Tower, an eight-storey office building located in Bekasi, West Java. The project has now entered its final stage, with the majority of façade works successfully completed.
At Riung Office Tower, Pelitamaju Facades is responsible for the façade works in its entirety, including aluminium curtain wall, glass, and ACP scopes of work. The company’s involvement extends beyond on-site installation, beginning at the early technical development stage to ensure that the design can be executed effectively in accordance with the selected façade system.
The process commenced with the submission of the initial design draft, which was subsequently developed by the Pelitamaju Facades team into shop drawings. While the original architectural concept was maintained, technical and system-related adjustments were made to ensure the design could be implemented accurately and efficiently during installation. This approach plays a key role in aligning design intent with practical execution on site.
For this project, Riung Office Tower adopts a stick-type curtain wall system. Compared to unitized systems, the stick curtain wall system offers greater flexibility during installation and allows for adjustments to suit actual site conditions. This system is well suited for mid-rise office buildings, both from a technical perspective and in terms of construction methodology.
To date, the façade works have reached approximately 95 percent completion. Glass installation has been completed, and nearly all primary façade elements are now in place. The remaining works are focused on detailed finishing, including ACP top-copings and fins, prior to the final finishing stage.
One of the key challenges encountered during the project was the relatively tight construction timeline. To maintain progress in line with the schedule, Pelitamaju Facades adjusted its on-site strategy by increasing the workforce. The number of workers was expanded from approximately 20–30 personnel to around 30–40, ensuring productivity was maintained without compromising quality standards.
Throughout the installation process, safety and quality control have remained top priorities. The Riung Office Tower project implements comprehensive K3 (Occupational Health and Safety) standards, supported by a layered quality control system. Quality inspections are conducted at specific stages as well as on an overall basis, ensuring that each façade element complies with the required specifications and quality standards.
As the project moves into the next phase, the focus will shift toward sealing works, repairs, and the completion of any remaining installation elements. This phase is critical to ensuring the long-term performance of the façade, both in terms of functionality, aesthetics, and material durability.
Through the Riung Office Tower project, Pelitamaju Facades continues to strengthen its role as a façade contractor in Indonesia, emphasizing system accuracy, execution quality, and workplace safety. A consistent approach from planning through on-site execution reflects Pelitamaju Facades’ ongoing commitment to delivering reliable and sustainable façade solutions.
